Biography

William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III, August 19, 1946) served
 as the 42nd President of the United States (1993–2001). At 46 he was the third-youngest
 president. He became president at the end of the Cold War, and was the first baby boomer 
president. His wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, has served as the United States Secretary of
 State since January 21, 2009. Each received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Yale Law School.


Early life:
Bill Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe, III, at Julia Chester Hospital in Hope, 
Arkansas.His father, William Jefferson Blythe, Jr., was a traveling salesman who died in 
an automobile accident three months before Bill was born. Following Bill's birth, in order 
to study nursing, his mother Virginia Dell Cassidy (1923–1994), traveled to New Orleans,
 leaving Bill in Hope with grandparents, Eldridge and Edith Cassidy, who owned and operated
 a small grocery store.

Marriage and family:
After Oxford, Clinton attended Yale Law School and obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in
 1973.While at Yale, he began dating fellow law student Hillary Rodham, who was a year ahead
 of him. They married on October 11, 1975, and their only child, Chelsea, was born on
 February 27, 1980.

Presidential pets

Bill Clinton's Buddy and Socks
In December 1997, the Clinton family dog Buddy arrived at the White House. Buddy was a 
chocolate Labrador Retriever who was, well, despised by Socks, the Clinton's black and 
white cat.

"You know, I did better with the Arabs, the Palestinians and the Israelis than I've done
 with Socks and Buddy," the president told CNN.

Buddy was tragically killed by a car near his home in New York in 2002.

Pets and Politics
Socks: Adopted by the Clintons in 1991, Socks moved into the White House in 1997 and was
given to the president's secretary, Betty Currie when Clinton left office in 2001.
Buddy: The Lab moved with the Clintons to New York when the president left office. He was 
killed by a car near his home in 2002.
